Titanium Application

Forging Process

The forging process begins by coating the forging slugs in liquid glass. It is then allowed to dry to prevent contamination. Titanium breakdown is usually performed above the beta transformation temperatures. Forging and die heating temperatures are critical to the forging process. This is because excess heat loss leads to defective forging.

During the forging process, small contamination might occur. It is then eliminated through chemical etching of grinding. After the process is complete, the forged metal is straightened at 380-530 degrees. A straight load is placed on top of the forged metal to achieve a forged metal that is straight.
